Triad RF Systems Launches Triad Astral™ Product Line, the Company’s First Named Space Portfolio

August 18, 2026

More than 600 delivered payloads. More than 20 years of accumulated LEO flight time. Answered by the engineers who design the hardware. The Triad Astral product line gives that flight-proven hardware a single name engineers can specify and order today.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ, August 18, 2026. Triad RF Systems, a subsidiary of Comrod Group and the most-flown RF amplifier supplier in commercial NewSpace, today announced the Triad Astral™ product line, a curated family of flight-proven RF amplifiers, bidirectional amplifiers, frequency-translating modules, and integrated front-end assemblies spanning UHF through Ka-band and purpose-built for the commercial satellite and small satellite market. The Triad Astral product line is available immediately and will be demonstrated at SmallSat 2026, Booth 1639, August 24 to 26, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Triad Astral product line is the first named line in Triad RF's history, and the first time the company has packaged its space portfolio under a unified commercial name. It does not change how Triad works with its customers, which is engineer to engineer, focused on solving the payload problem in front of them. Triad's amplifiers have flown on more than 600 commercial LEO payloads across distinct customers, representing more than 20 years of accumulated LEO flight time, which is more operational heritage than any other amplifier supplier in the commercial NewSpace competitive set. The Triad Astral line makes that record visible.

"Most-flown amplifiers in commercial NewSpace: that is not a tagline. It is a fact. Six hundred delivered payloads across distinct customers. That is more operational flight heritage than anyone else in this market can claim. The Triad Astral line is how we make that record available to every payload engineer designing a mission today.

"Pat Sherlock, NewSpace Growth Lead, Triad RF Systems

Engineer to Engineer

Triad's applications engineering team publishes technical content on newspacerf.com, including link budget frameworks, SWaP selection guides, and spectral efficiency comparisons, so payload engineers can size their RF chain before they place a call. When they do call, the engineer who answers is the engineer solving the problem. Triad does not route technical questions through account management. It is the same principle behind Triad's SmallSat 2026 presence, which is built around solving engineers' link budgets rather than pitching products. Datasheets, application notes, and link budget tools for the full Triad Astral line are available at newspacerf.com.

"Payload engineers do not need another defense company trying to adapt a classified-program amplifier to fit a CubeSat. They need a supplier who was built for this market, who understands the SWaP constraints, who can answer a spec question on the same call, and who has the flight heritage to stand behind the answer. That is what the Triad Astral line delivers."

Dean Handrinos, Chief Technology Officer, Triad RF Systems

Proven in Orbit

Every product in the Triad Astral line carries TRL 9 status, meaning it is qualified and delivered on operational missions. The line's flight record includes multiple SpaceX Falcon 9 rideshare missions, among them Transporter-2 (2021), Transporter-4 (2022), and Transporter-5 (2022), alongside dozens of commercial constellation programs that span six continents of ground station coverage. The Triad Astral family contains no paper products and no prototypes dressed as catalog items. If a product is in the Triad Astral family, it has flown.

Built for SmallSat

Triad Astral products are designed for the size, weight, and power (SWaP), thermal, and shock realities of CubeSat and SmallSat platforms rather than adapted from defense hardware. The line is SDR-agnostic. Every Triad Astral amplifier and front-end module is designed to work with the commercial software-defined radio platforms that define the SmallSat supply chain today, including EnduroSat, GOMSpace, IQ Spacecom, and AAC Clyde Space. Engineers do not need to redesign their RF chain around Triad. Triad meets them where they are.

Triad Astral frequency coverage spans UHF through Ka-band, addressing the full range of link requirements across the commercial NewSpace mission profile: S-band for IoT and 5G NTN uplinks, X-band for high-rate payload downlinks, Ka-band for broadband constellation architectures, and L-band for telemetry, command, and inter-satellite link applications.

Commercial Cadence

Standard Triad Astral configurations ship in eight to ten weeks from confirmed order, consistent with the launch tempo of commercial NewSpace programs and roughly half the twelve-to-sixteen-week lead time common among defense-heritage suppliers. Custom configurations, including frequency extensions, power-level variants, and thermal-integration modifications, are handled by Triad's applications engineering team. Triad's manufacturing is ISO 9001:2015 certified, U.S.-based, and ITAR-aware, backed by the parent-company stability of Comrod Group of Norway and the European market reach that comes with it.

SmallSat 2026 Demonstration

Triad RF will demonstrate the Triad Astral line at SmallSat 2026 in Salt Lake City, August 24 to 26, at Booth 1639. The demonstration centers on a live link budget session. Engineers attending the show are invited to run their own mission parameters through Triad's link budget calculator and determine whether their payload architecture closes the link with a Triad Astral amplifier in the chain. Engineers who complete the demonstration earn an "I Closed the Link" t-shirt.

Pre-show meetings with Pat Sherlock, NewSpace Growth Lead, are available by appointment at newspacerf.com. Booth demonstration slots are available during show hours on a first-come basis.
