When it comes to RF products designed for use in space, the stakes are high. The unforgiving environment of space demands that such products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. At Triad RF Systems, we understand the importance of testing for survivability and peak operating performance in very high or low temperature, high pressure, and chemically corrosive environments.
One critical component of our quality assurance process is temperature testing. Pictured are several CubeSat-specific integrated microwave assemblies (IMEs) that we have designed and built here at Triad RF Systems. Every unit undergoes temperature testing prior to customer delivery to ensure its durability and reliability in space and other harsh environments.
Our IMEs are fully integrated with a power amplifier (PA), low-noise amplifier (LNA), and dual filter assembly. These high-performance units are currently in service, supporting 5G IoT CubeSat applications in low Earth orbit (LEO). They deliver the high power, high efficiency, and out-of-band rejection performance required for such systems.
We take pride in the fact that our products are customized for use within space and are compatible with both off-the-shelf and customer-designed Software Defined Radios (SDRs). Our RF amplifiers operate in a variety of bands, from UHF-Band to Ka-Band. Additionally, we produce Up and Down-converters and create full-duplex Tx/Rx assemblies used in FDD radio systems.
Our commitment to quality has led to our products being used by various NewSpace companies, including In-Space Missions Limited (BAE Systems), amongst others. In fact, our subsystems were launched on three different SpaceX Rideshare missions within a year: the Falcon 9 Transporter-2 in 2021 and the Transporter-4 and Transporter-5 in 2022, respectively.
Over the last five years, we have built and delivered over 400 CubeSat amplifier and frequency converter products to support critical communications links on customer satellites. Our products have proven their worth time and time again, with our customers relying on them to maintain critical communications links in the harsh environment of space.
In conclusion, temperature testing is a critical verification check to ensure optimal performance of RF products in space. At Triad RF Systems, we understand the importance of testing and have made it an integral part of our quality assurance process. Our products have been designed and built to the highest standards of performance and reliability, ensuring that they meet the demanding requirements of space-based applications.
