Dual Channel L-Band MIMO Bi-Directional Amplifier

Triad RF has shipped its latest Dual BDA, the L-Band TTRM1081D. This unit is compatible with all military and commercial radios and provides over 20W of peak RF power across 1.3 to 1.4 GHz, per channel. Made specifically for multi-in multi-out (MIMO) radios, providing 2 radio ports and 2 antenna ports, each providing 5W of COFDM power. The BDA operates off a single +28V supply and provides 25 dB of TX gain and 11 dB of RX gain in both channels.

Triad RF’s Growth Continues Through 2017

Our 2017 revenue increased over 30% compared to 2016. This growth can be attributed to several Triad products used by military companies around the globe. Some of these products successfully passed the rigors of MIL-STD testing including 810F and 461G and are now transmitting high speed data and video over long distances.

We are also experiencing growth in our unmanned aerial and ground vehicle (UAV & UGV) products. We are currently part of the payload in over eight major UAV platforms and one major UGV platform. Finally, our commercial MIMO BDAs continue to power many high data rate radio systems across the world in fixed, mobile, and aerial applications.

Our backlog has remained strong since the beginning of Q2. As a result we have increased our full-time staff by over 55%. We doubled our production personnel along with adding a seasoned Production Manager. We also increased our administration and inside sales staff allowing the original founders to focus on business development.

New Triad CubeSat/NanoSat Amplifier Destined for Space

Triad has designed and launched the new TA1109, a small form factor circuit card amplifier designed to be integrated into CubeSat and NanoSat satellite systems. Weighing in at less than a half an ounce, the TA1109 is perfect for applications where small size and weight reduction is critical. Operating at 2000-2500 MHz, the TA1109 offers up to 4W of output power, with a voltage input range of +9 to +14 VDC.

Triad Releases 4th Generation GaN Bi-Directional Amplifiers

Triad RF introduces the 4000 Series of Bi-Directional GaN Amplifiers (BDA). The units operate in the Low and High C Bands, Federal C-1 and C-2 bands and the 5.2 & 5.8 GHz ISM bands. State-of-the-art GaN devices, along with complex matching circuits for the driver and final devices, allow the 4000 series to deliver twice the RF linear power while only consuming half to one third of the DC power of our previous generation C-Band BDAs! Various models in module or circuit card formats provide 64 QAM TX output powers of 2W, 5W, 10W, and 20W while maintaining 4.4% EVM.

The size of the 64QAM 10W unit (5.3 x 3.25 x 0.57 inches) is the same as the previous generation, but comes with several new features including the following:
– Transmit Output Power Detector
– Radio Input Power Detector
– Improved Low-Noise Amplifier (LNA), lower noise figure (NF).
– Auto detection mode provides an output signal that states whether the unit is in TX or RX.
– Improved TX and RX indicator circuitry
– Status pin indicating if the unit has exceeded acceptable temperature levels or gone into a failure mode.
– Improved base plate temperature output circuitry
– International Protection Rating = IP66
Transmit gain is 25 dB, while receive gain is 11 dB. These units still have the fastest switching time between TX and RX, less than 1 µsec! RF connectors are SMA Female and the DC connector is a 21 pin micro-Dsub.

The first 4000-Series model, the TTRM4010 has already passed environmental testing for a large defense manufacturer of high speed video and data links. Production is expected to begin Q1 of 2018.

Triad RF Systems Ships Dual Channel C-Band Bi-Directional Amplifier for MIMO Radios

Triad has designed a dual channel version of the popular TTRM1008, which is compatible with nearly all types of military and commercial radios. The TTRM1008D operates at 4.4 to 5 GHz and is capable of an output of 25 Watts per channel for signals types such as BPSK/QPSK, but is also linear enough to provide up to 5 Watts of power with more complex signal types such as 64QAM. This combination of power and linearity makes the TTRM1008D an ideal companion for both tactical MIMO radios and commercial radios alike.

Triad Designs Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) for CubeSat and NanoSat Systems

The TA1181 has been designed for use from 400 to 450 MHz, and is typically used in but not limited to CubeSat and NanoSat GCS (Ground Station) applications. This amplifier module has a maximum out power of 158 Watts and can be used with a multitude of waveforms, from GMSK/BPSK up to highly modulated signals such as 64QAM and 256QAM for higher data rate applications.
This unit features high speed on/off control, over and under voltage protection, and temperature monitoring all packed into a small form factor.

Triad RF Ships Military Radio Amplifiers to Leading Defense Contractor

Triad has completed another shipment of TTRM1008 amplifiers for use in military radio systems to one of the country’s largest electronics and defense systems providers.

The TTRM1008 operates in the 4400-5000 MHz band and is compatible with nearly all military and commercial radio systems. It offers 25 Watts of peak power for signals such as QPSK/BPSK but is also linear enough to provide 5 Watts of power with more complex modulation schemes such as 64QAM.

Triad RF Systems Designs Bench-Top Lab Unit for Leading Particle Physics Laboratory.

This lab unit is capable of a power output of 30 Watts and operates at a frequency range from 1200 MHz to 1400 MHz. The compact and rugged design of this system is ideal for bench-top testing and many other applications where both simplicity and portability are required.
