Triad Designs Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) for CubeSat and NanoSat Systems

The TA1181 has been designed for use from 400 to 450 MHz, and is typically used in but not limited to CubeSat and NanoSat GCS (Ground Station) applications. This amplifier module has a maximum out power of 158 Watts and can be used with a multitude of waveforms, from GMSK/BPSK up to highly modulated signals such as 64QAM and 256QAM for higher data rate applications.
This unit features high speed on/off control, over and under voltage protection, and temperature monitoring all packed into a small form factor.

Triad RF develops a 50W S-Band bi-directional TTRM1054

Triad RF develops the TTRM1054, a 50W S-Band bi-directional amplifier operating from 2.3 to 2.7 GHz. The unit uses the latest LDMOS technology and produces over 5 Watts of 802.11G power and over 25 Watts of 802.11B power. The unit has manual switching between TX and RX modes with switching times < 1 usec.

Switching and timing functions are controlled by our complex programmable logic device (CPLD). Other functions such as alarms and LED signals are also controlled by the CPLD. The unit is the same footprint as our other B–Directional amplifiers, measuring 5.3(L) x 3.7(W) x 0.57(H) inches. We are currently filling production orders of the TTRM1054 which are expected to be completed by the end of April, 2014.

Triad RF receives an international order for an 800 MHz-6.0 GHz, 16W rack

Triad RF receives a development order from an international customer for an 800 MHz – 6.0 GHz, 16W amplifier housed in a 19 inch rack for a physics lab application. All monitoring and control functions of this GaN amplifier will be accessed via a new touch screen front panel. The SSPA will also incorporate a single-board computer (SBC) running the Android operating system, an industry first. The amplifier will ship Q1 of 2014.

Triad RF receives order for L-Band bi-directional TTRM1081

Triad RF receives a development order for the TTRM1081, an L-Band version of our S-Band bi-directional amplifier. The transmit portion of this amplifier provides five (5) Watts of 802.11G power. The receive section provides 11 dB of linear gain to increase the performance of the radio front end. The units will also automatically switch between transmit and receive by detecting power from the radio; if no power is detected, the unit will remain in receive mode. The amplifiers will ship before year end.

Triad RF receives an order for the 4.4-5.0 GHz Linear TA1031

Triad RF has received a pre-production order from a U.S. surveillance solution provider for our TA1031, 4.4 – 5.0 GHz, 10 Watt bi-directional linear power amplifier. The units will be integrated in a new high-speed data link which will be used in various types of military airborne and ground vehicles. The units will ship in October, 2013, with a follow-on order for a 25W version. The units will transmit in various modulations, including BPSK, QPSK, and 64 QAM. Our linear technology allowed the customer to significantly increase the transmit and receive distance of their present radio offerings.

Triad RF receives order for a 2.45 GHz bi-directional amplifier from top tier defense contractor

Triad RF has received a pre-production order from a top tier defense contractor for a modified version of our 2.45 GHz bi-directional linear power amplifier, . The units will be used in a new air to air high-speed data link which will be used in various types of military airborne vehicles. Our ability to modify our standard product and supply the customer with a custom part in a very short period of time helped with this program win. Delivery will be completed before end of third quarter, 2013, with further quantities needed in early 2014.

Triad RF has received an order for a high power television amplifier

Triad RF has received a production order for high power linear amplifiers used in multi-channel television broadcast. Triad’s linear technology allows the customer to simultaneously transmit hundreds of TV channels along with wireless internet signals. Combined with our efficiency technology, the power consumption of the base station will decrease, allowing the TV provider to pass the savings on to the end-user.

Triad RF receives an order for the TA1025 for use in surveillance systems

Triad RF receives a production order from a domestic provider of surveillance systems for the TA1025. This wideband amplifier provides one (1) Watt of COFDM power. Consistent performance from unit to unit plus a competitive price helped the customer secure this order. Stock units already shipped with the balance shipping in Q2 and the first half of Q3.

Triad receives order from a domestic OEM provider

Triad RF receives a large production order from a domestic provider of OEM equipment used to provide high-quality WiFi communications on highspeed mobile platforms. Operating between 1 and 2 GHz, these amplifiers provide several Watts of wideband Long Term Evolution (LTE) signals. Deliveries will occur end of Q2 and throughout Q3.

Triad RF receives order for a 4-6 Ghz 20W amplifier

Triad RF receives an order from a major OEM for test amplifiers in the 4 GHz and 6 GHz bands. Our 20W units were choosen for their performance and price. Other bands will possibly be needed after delivery of the first units.
